June Posting

Greetings from Belize!

So, it is about time I update the blog! We have been a little busy this last month; Lisa had surgery, Rachel (our oldest daughter) graduated from the University of Kentucky with a masters in Social Work, Becca (our youngest daughter) graduated from Centre College with a bachelors in Anthropology/Sociology and then….. Becca married Jared Cook the following weekend! That was the personal stuff and I will post some pictures at the end of the blog.

The beginning of May was a milestone for Belize/Honduras. We officially became The Belize/Honduras Emmaus Community! We were blessed to have Mrs. Kathy and Mr. Howard Roswell from The Lexington Emmaus Community, Kentucky, to lead us in leadership training and how to organize our community. They were present to watch as the steering committee signed the Covennant for The Upper Room.

Yours truly even got in on the signing!

There were several of us who signed the covenant, including Bishop Roosvelt Papouloute.

Kathy, Howard, Angella, Sandra and I then made our way to Jaguar Creek which will be our sight for our first men’s and women’s walks in 2016. Kathy and Howard were able to get a feel for the facility. It was so good to see my friends from Kentucky.

The Belize Methodist Schools are into the last few days of school. Graduation activities are scheduled and it will be tough to see the older kids move on. I have had a good time getting to know the students, teachers, and administrators at the Libertad Methodist School and Corozal Methodist School. I know everyone is anxious for the summer break!

As I shared, Lisa had surgery to help relieve the pressure on her neck. She is doing very well. The relief is so welcomed. Here she is at the rehersal dinner for Becca and Jared.

Because of the surgery, Lisa had to have a little down time, but not for long. We are in full swing of the summer mission teams. We missed a couple of teams while we were in the states. Much work continues to happen. It is so wonderful for all the people who make projects happen in Belize. We are also grateful to my Kentucky Annual Conference who is giving half of the Missions Service offering to the Advance Project, The Belmopan Highschool Construction. What a blessing for the future of education for hundreds of youth over the years. I am so proud of Lisa’s hard work with many others to make the project a success.

Here are a few photos of the special events over the last month in the Williams’ Family:

I not only had the priviledge of wakling Becca down the aisle, but I also officiated the wedding. I held it together until the processional.

Mother and Daughter, they are sooooo beautiful!

The reception was held at the Highbridge Park and it was such a beautiful and fun day! Then Lisa and I loaded up the car and we were back in Beautiful Belize the next day.

Thank you everyone who hold us up in prayer and contribute to our Advance numbers. We are beginning to look at our furlough in early 2016. We will be looking forward to visitng many of the churches who have supported us over these last three years and looking forward to new friends!

And now, to close out this blog. I am so blessed to be married to my most favorite person in the world! Lisa and I celebrated our 30 year Anniversary yesterday (June 8). Wow, time has gone by so quickly. It is such a joy and honor to be on this journey in life with one who makes everyday an adventure of fun and joy. I love her more everyday!
