Dec. 2016

Hello Friends! Lisa and I made it back to Corozal on October 12th. It was great to travel back to Belize and begin getting back into the groove of things. The teachers were on strike in Belize when we arrived, but they are now back in school and Jamie has resumed doing devotions with the schools. The children, staff, and church members have greeted us with open arms!

October 23rd, we had our Harvest Festival at Libertad Methodist Church. What a great day of specials by children and youth of Libertad Methodist School. Here are some pictures from the special day. Oct. 30th was for Harvest for Corozal.

Many of you know we have been praying for Beyonce Chi. Beyonce is a youth at Corozal Methodist Church and has a severe form of Lupus. She has really struggled this passed year and a couple of times we thought we were going to lose her. She is still toughing it out but trying to lead a life as normal as possible. She is on heavy doses of medications. Please continue to pray for her health and her family with the long trips back and forth to Merida, Mexico for very expensive, specialized care.

Our “District November Meetings" were held at the end of the month in Belize City. The following pictures are of my peers. It was good to see them and to be back to work on District issues.

Jamie has resumed his duties and made a quick trip to Kentucky to see his shoulder surgeon, hand doctor and physical therapist. He got a good bill of health from both. They are pleased to see he is doing so well! Jamie is working with the Belize/Honduras Emmaus Community and will be working the up and coming Walks 3 and 4 in Belize. This is so exciting for us!

While in Lexington, Jamie had the privilege to see family and go to the Lexington UMC District Christmas Dinner. Here is a picture of the District Superintendent of Lexington, Rev. James A. Williams, and me next to him. We are BOTH Rev James A. Williams!!!! Yes it makes things a little confusing!!!!

Lisa continues to work very hard on the high school and other projects in Belize. It is great to see the High School so close to being done. We are thankful for all the people who gave on “Giving Tuesday”. Hopefully we will have a tally for all that was given to the Belmopan High School Advance. Here is our latest picture.

In the midst of all that has happened this year, Lisa has fared well. She continued working with the UMVIM teams while taking care of Jamie. We so appreciate Lisa’s parents who took good care of their son-in-law. We love them so much!

We got to be with family and that was a blessing during the recovery.

Global Ministries was so good to us during the recovery. We are on board for another three years in Belize, “Lord Willing” as they say here in Belize!

Be sure to look at the new pictures under, “Meet My Peers” and “Recent Pictures"

If you and/or your church would like to covenant with us, go to the tab, “How to Connect With Lisa and Jamie” , at the top of the page to find the information. We would love to develop a relationship with you and your church.

Continue to pray for Jamie's and Lisa’s health. We also ask for prayers as Rebecca and Brandon (seen with Lisa’s parent’s above), daughter Becca as she begins the application process to enter into post-graduate studies. Also remember our daughter Rachel who has moved to Denver, CO and is now working as a social worker in a hopsital in Aurora.
